ADAGIO FOR STRINGS. Written by American composer Samuel Barber, 1910 - 1981. This is his most known composition because of it being used in a number of films, most notably in Oliver Stone's 1986 academy award winning, Platoon. The film takes a couple of hours to get a very important message across about the horrors of war, the famous photograph above does it in just one glimpse, she's everyone's little girl. A life size copy of the photo should be displayed at the door into the chambers of all the world's governments.

Now popular with the kids... as a chillout number and in the clubs in a remixed format that's surprisingly good.
