DEVELOPMENT |
|
This site is being developed
solely by Steve Burgin of Barlborough, Derbyshire, UK.
I'll spare you the STORY
BEHIND THE SITE but it's there if you're interested.
Whilst some may think that the name of the web site is derivative
of the mating call of a swiss cockerel... it is of course a
combination of two of the big search engines... YAHOO!™
and GOOGLE™. The name reflects the sites function perfectly
and whilst the logo may be a little naughty, a bloke in my local
pub describes it as innovative (he also happens to be my best
mate). Fingers crossed it's legal. |

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS |
|
First thanks must go to
the magazines that provided me with so much guidance, .net,
PCAnswers
and WebDesigner
were all essential reads. A mag called Practical Web Design
was also great but I'm not sure if it's published any more.
Anyone wanting any free JavaScript resourses should visit the
JAVASCRIPT
SOURCE or JAVASCRIPT
KIT. With a special thanks to David Coleman and Arash Akbari
who submitted some super scripts. |

WISH
LIST |
|
A few improvements I would
love to add to the search tool, once I have found out how:
1. A button at the end of the Search Box, which when clicked
places the "Search Box text" within quotes.
2. Allow each user to set their own default search engine for
each section.
3. Allow each user to set their own default search section on
the Quick Launch feature.
4. A tick box that lets each user choose to open their results
in a new window or in the same window.
5. The Search Box gets the focus on each visit.
6. Scrolling news ticker from the BBC within the news section.
If you have a solution for any of the above wishes then I would
love to HEAR FROM YOU. |
